The following link will allow you to manually download all of the patches ever released for the game (useful if you have upgraded from the trial version as you have to wait HOURS for the patches to download in the game launcher at 50kbps!).
I reccommend using firefox as it will allow you to queue your downloads. Simply right click on each file, click "Save Link As..." and save it directly into your C:\Program Files\StarWarsGalaxies folder. Once you have updated all the files (about 4gb!) then simply start SWG back up. It will need to get a couple of help files still but this will be considerably faster than using the Launcher method...
